GIM-based Attribute Database Design for Overhead Transmission Lines

As power systems continue to evolve, the data management of overhead transmission lines has become increasingly complex. To meet the diverse needs for attribute data of overhead transmission lines at different time points and in various application scenarios, this paper proposes a multi-version attribute database design method based on the Grid Information Model (GIM). This approach not only utilizes the GIM model to comprehensively collect and store the extensive attribute information of transmission lines but also ensures effective management and historical traceability of different versions of data through the implementation of a multi-version control mechanism. In this study, the PostgreSQL database is adopted as the data storage platform, leveraging its robust open-source capabilities and support for geospatial data types. Experiments have proved that by constructing multi-version data tables, the database designed in this paper can store, query, and analyze multi-version GIM model attribute data, which provides important support for power system operation monitoring, fault analysis and historical data comparison. The multi-version attribute database design method proposed herein enhances the flexibility and precision of data management for overhead transmission lines, thereby providing an essential guarantee for the intelligent and refined management of power systems. This research outcome holds substantial significance for advancing innovation and development within the power industry.
