Performance Analysis of FACsSnI3 Perovskite Solar Cells: Variations in Electron Affinity and Defect Density with Different ETLs

This study investigates the impact of electron affinity and defect density on the performance of FACsSnI3- based perovskite solar cells using five different electron transport layers (ETLs): SnS2, PCBM, CdZnS, LBSO, and TiO2. The analysis was conducted through simulations using SCAPS 1D software, focusing on key performance metrics such as efficiency, fill factor (FF), short-circuit current density (Jsc), and open-circuit voltage (Voc). The results indicate that SnS2 and CdZnS provide superior performance with higher efficiencies and better stability across various defect densities. In contrast, PCBM shows the lowest efficiency due to its lower electron affinity and poor defect tolerance. The study highlights the significance of choosing appropriate ETLs to optimize the overall performance of perovskite solar cells, providing a pathway for future research and development in this field.
