Optimizing Agricultural Data Management: Shifting from Legacy On-Premise Systems to Modern Solutions at BPTP West Java

This research explores the major inefficiencies in agricultural data management at Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP) of West Java. The key objective is to propose and implement a state-of-the-art data architecture using an ETL framework, which will improve data availability, reduce data processing time, and enhance decision-making processes. The existing on-premise-based data warehousing system has inefficiencies that slow down data retrieval and processing. The study addresses this by adopting qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as structured stakeholder interviews, systematic observations, and document analysis. As a result, the research developed an efficient ETL system that integrates internal and external data sources into a centralized data repository. The system enhanced efficiency in data processing, reducing retrieval time by 35 \% , leading to better decisionmaking processes related to SDG 2. This paper presents a framework that can be easily replicated for other agricultural institutions aiming to manage their activities sustainably.
