Analysis of College Students’ Achievement Based on Data Mining

Data mining, as an advanced data processing technology in the field of information science, has the core function of discovering valuable information from massive data sets. This process can not only reveal the intrinsic connection between data but also provide scientific and accurate guidance for decision-makers. This paper proposes a data mining method based on the C4.5 algorithm to mine the association rules of students’ academic performance in a college so as to reveal the correlation between the performance and variables such as students’ backgrounds and study habits, as well as the interdependencies between various courses. This analysis serves to inform the development of specialized talent cultivation programs and provides a scientific basis for the more strategic planning and execution of educational administration tasks.
