Analysis of Student’s Achievement through Educational Data Mining

Data mining is referred to the process of retrieving data and discovering the knowledge from a specific dataset. Nowadays data mining plays an important role in the education system, especially in higher education. This paper proposes the use of data mining techniques and analysis in higher education systems that measure the efficiency and quality of educational institutions. The main objective of this paper is to analyze the university student’s expertise regarding their academic results and specific course performance. Applying various data mining techniques in this paper such as clustering, decision trees, and regression analysis would help to improve students’ performance and filter good, average, and bad students according to their results. Besides in this paper, it could be understood that which techniques are more appropriate and determine the highest accuracy for measuring student’s performance.
