Numerical Analysis of Cs2 TiBr6 Perovskite Solar Cell Using ETL-CdS and HTL-CuI Materials

Lead-free Ti-based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) can be pivotal materials in achieving high-performance power conversion efficiency (PCE). In this research, we present a lead-free, environmentally friendly, and sustainable perovskite solar cell based on Cs2TiBr6 and present the results of a numerical evaluation and design of this material. Hence, CdS is used for the Electron transport layer (ETL), and CuI is used for the Hole transport layer (HTL). We have investigated several factors, including the thickness of the ETL and HTL layers, the absorber layer, the defect density of the ETL and HTL, and the metalwork function. This investigation reveals high-performance PSCs that achieve an efficiency of up to 14.01% at 300 k temperature. The findings of this contribution have the potential to benefit the photovoltaic industry by easing the manufacturing of cheap, high-efficiency, lead-free Ti-based solar cells to satisfy rising energy demands.
