Location Prediction is an ambient factor that has been taken into consideration in the ongoing research trend for numerous years. Numerous algorithms, models, and other ideas on this subject have proposed. This research is very valuable in the field of ubiquitous/omnipresent systems. The research that has been done for several years helps track the occurrence of humanitarian emergencies. Therefore, in today's world, location prediction is crucial to both daily life and the majority of real-time applications. Researchers have contributed various algorithms, frameworks, and methods to predict the locations of criminals, natural disasters, weather forecasting, vehicle movements, migration of animals, etc. in ubiquitous environments. Due to its significance in various application domains, location prediction has recently attracted a lot of attention from researchers. This research examines the significance of location prediction in detail, along with its applications, a general framework for location prediction, and algorithms. Finally, this research concludes that it is crucial for the advancement of location prediction in ubiquitous environments.
