Software testing and debugging works aim to improve software quality in the hope of increasing software stability and user satisfaction. However, in practice, software testing work must be completed within a limited time and reach an acceptable reliability level, so project managers must know how to allocate and arrange the specified testing resources among all the software subsystems. However, most of the studies regarding the issue of software reliability have mainly focused on a whole software system or a simple series of software modules and might neglect the issue of testing complex and parallel software modules. Therefore, in this study, the two programming models are proposed to deal with the schedule of testing complex and parallel software modules to achieve a minimal testing time under the limited testing resources and certain reliability requirements. Moreover, Particle Swarm Optimization is used to solve such an NP-complete problem. It assists the software development managers in scheming and arranging all the testing resources in optimization under the related constraints.
