For nuclear power plants, safety functions must not be lost in case of an initial fire. Fire operation common mode failure, which refers to a safety function lost due to fire and improper implementation of loss of support system procedures, is put foreword and discussed in this paper, the analysis method of identifying fire operation common failure is presented and possible measures to eliminate the common mode failure is suggested. The method presented in this paper can ensure the availability of safety functions in case of fire and improve the fire safety level of nuclear power plants.
