A multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem is a decision-maker's determination of the most appropriate one among alternatives by considering more than one criterion. Various methods are used to solve MCDM problems. These methods can be grouped separately for weighting criteria and ranking alternatives. Many different criteria weighting and ranking methods are used in the literature. However, an important problem is how to decide which of these different weighting and ranking methods is the best one. There is no clear solution as to which methods to choose and how to choose them. One of the common approaches is to combine the results using more than one method. The Copeland method is widely used for combining different ranking results. In this study, a different form of the “Two Way Copeland” method, which has been previously proposed in the literature, is considered. Different criteria weighting results are combined with different alternative ranking methods in two stages. The application is applied to the satisfaction ranking of foundation universities in Turkey and the results are presented comparatively. The proposed approach is named as “Two Way Copeland V2”. The proposed approach gave similar ranking results to the actual ranking values with a correlation of approximately 98%. It is concluded that the proposed approach can be used to obtain results close to the real ranking by using different methods together.
