With the complexity of software function and structure, the difficulty of software development becomes more and more, the guarantee of software quality becomes more and more challenging, and the cost of maintenance and management also rises. Software measurement serves a significant function in software engineering as a quantitative method for data definition, collection and analysis of software development projects, processes and products. Among them, software modularity is the key factor in software structure measurement. In order to solve this problem, a new modularity metric Q is proposed to evaluate the modularity of software from the point of view of complex network. First, the structure of the software is represented using a characteristic coupling network (FCN). Then, the original class structure of software is regarded as the characteristic community, and the modularity index used to evaluate the community structure in the complex network field is introduced to measure the modularity of the class, so as to provide a more scientific and comprehensive measurement method.
