ZMAM: A ZKP-Based Mutual Authentication Scheme for the IoMT

초록

In the era of smart healthcare, the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) ubiquitously collects, evaluates, monitors, and prescribes treatments for patients. Despite its significant benefits, IoMT faces substantial risks related to unauthorized access to confidential medical information, largely due to the vulnerability of wireless communication channels. Furthermore, IoMT devices are constrained by limitations in computation, energy, and storage, which hinder the implementation of complex authentication protocols. To address these challenges, we propose a novel IoMT authentication scheme called ZMAM, which is based on zero-knowledge proof for mutual authentication between IoMT sensors and gateway servers. ZMAM ensures device integrity, confidentiality, and protection from cyber threats while minimizing computational and communication resource consumption.
