Recent research and experiments in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) security have found that these devices are vulnerable to various attacks, ranging from cyber-attacks to physical attacks on devices. Internet of Things (IoTs) have certain features of resource optimization and small storage capacity that make them vulnerable to attacks, as the manufacturer pays less attention to the security and privacy part of the device in use. Considering the constraints of the Internet of Things (IoTs),Blockchain has been lately proposed as a possible solution for feasibility with the Internet of Things (IoTs). The popularity of Blockchain lies in its major features of Security, Anonymity, Unanimous and Decentralization and thus, made it synchronizable with the Internet of Things (IoTs). This paper shall present an overview of the Blockchain parameters used in the Internet of Things (IoT) along with the concept of ‘‘lightweight blockchain” being discussed as a new concept and considered by researchers and experimenters as a feasible model for the Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
