Selection and Evaluation Criteria of Third-Party Logistics (3PL) with Agility Factor

Third-party logistics or 3PL is an integral part of a company's supply chain. A good collaboration between 3PL and its customer will improve the performance of the company and its supply chain, increase their competitive advantage and create a long-term partnership benefit for both parties. Therefore, the selection and evaluation of 3PL is a crucial problem in decision making of a company and its supply chain. Previous studies have shown the main criteria of 3PL selection, including price, quality, and service. But due to current condition, agility has become a significant factor for a company to be flexible, responsive, and adaptive in facing today challenges. This study aims to identify the criteria in selecting and evaluating 3PL with agility factor. The method used in this research are literature review, interview, and inquiry via questionnaires to experts for validation process. The result of this study may help decision-makers and practitioners in addressing problem of 3PL selection and evaluation in recent situation.
