Based on the evidence theory of artificial intelligence, the credibility and the falsity of evidence are calculated by using improved conflict measures. The highly conflicting evidence is classified and corrected. A safety evaluation method for ship lock miter gates based on improved D-S evidence theory is proposed accordingly. Relying on a newly built ship lock project in Jiangsu, the finite element analysis of the miter gate was carried out. The safety evaluation threshold and evidence fusion framework are determined. The data fusion of monitoring data for the opening and closing operation status of the miter gate is carried out, and a safety evaluation is conducted. The result indicates that the miter gate of the ship lock is in a healthy state. The safety evaluation method for miter gates proposed in this paper can provide scientific basis for the safe operation and maintenance of ship locks.
