In this paper, a review of power nameplate image recognition is conducted from two perspectives. On the one hand, a summary is made as to the current status of research conducted on power nameplate image recognition through traditional computer vision methods. On the one hand, the deep learning methods of power nameplate image recognition are reviewed. Lastly, the future directions of research on power nameplate image recognition are indicated.
