Software testing educators often struggle to educate the next generation of software engineers. However, in recent years, gamification approaches have been applied specifically to software testing education and have been found to increase student engagement with the subject. Similarly, recent years have seen an increase in the use of Model-Driven Engineering (MDE). While this has enabled non-technical students to develop fully functional programs through model-to-code transformations, these non-technical students often perform limited testing on their developed models. Therefore, we have proposed a new solution, based on an existing proposal for gamifying code-testing, by reusing the already existing knowledge from gamified code-testing and applying it to model-testing to create a gamified model-testing approach. In this paper we discuss an initial evaluation of our new solution in terms of user friendliness. We delve deeper into the pitfalls that had to be considered for the specific tool translation, as well as some other issues that need to be considered when translating any gamified code-testing approach into a similar model-testing approach. These findings are then translated into recommendations for the future translation of gamified code-testing approaches into gamified model-testing approaches.
