To explore the grid - lines in traditional Chinese book layout. To sort out the rules and version specifications of Chinese character arrangement in classical books. Study its version aesthetics. Establish a grid system in line with modern Chinese book design. Methods: Based on typology. Through the research of modern layout design grid system. Compare the differences between Chinese and western layout lines and grids. This paper analyzes the design standards of Chinese traditional book layout and line. Clarify the use of lines in a layout. Results: Taking the development of Chinese traditional books as the context. Study the generation of grid idea in various forms. Finding the beauty of a version has a lot to do with the grid system. Grid systems have always existed in ancient Chinese writing systems and version designs. The beauty of the grid is both ancient and modern.
