Navigation services are often the fundamental services in the mobile computing, Internet of things, edge computing and so on. Nowadays, navigation services usually use a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and inertial measurement units for navigation. However, they often adopt the monolithic architecture for easy development, which limits the efficiency of navigation services. In this work, we propose a microservice framework for efficient navigation service. By distributing the workload to different modules in our microservice framework, our method can improve the navigation efficiency with parallel computing among multiple microservices. We implement the navigation service and conduct experiments to evaluate the efficiency and the precision of the service. Preliminary results demonstrate that our microservice framework effectively improves the efficiency and precision of navigation compared with the monolithic framework.
