Salesforce Release Pipeline Optimization: A Relative Study of Azure DevOps, Copado and Jenkins

Salesforce is the leading CRM software for customizable software applications; thus, it requires advanced DevOps solutions and automated deployment processes. Creating the pipelines and DevOps Process is a big challenge for salesforce applications because of the dependencies with metadata, multiple sandbox environments and org dependencies. This paper discusses the different types of tools that can be used to create the salesforce DevOps pipelines and their effectiveness in performing seamless automated deployments. Also, this paper discusses the differences between these tools and ease of deployment process, ease of integrations between the other applications, scalability of these tools and automation between these tools. The real time scenarios of the study are used for the simulation in corporate world deployments in salesforce, roll back procedures and code quality check. By comparing these results between the tools, we can come up with recommendations based on the environments and types of different clouds. Finally, this paper's conclusion will provide the salesforce DevOps environments best practices and the provides an outlook for the further development in the process to improve the DevOps pipelines for salesforce deployments.
