This article describes the design of a course called Project Workshop, making use of active learning methods integrated with a project-based learning approach, with the aim to allow students to acquire competencies in Information Systems through the development of a project from the ground up. Results show that the project completion rate has increased, and student dropout rate decreased. Creation of Wikis was an important product for active learning. Finally, students managed to fully develop projects on cloud.
