In Indonesia, the number of data service sub-scribers is predicted to skyrocket beginning in 2021, rendering the existing 4G cellular services ineffective. Furthermore, there is a spectrum scarcity in Indonesia, particularly in regions with many tourists. Therefore, prior to installing 5G, it is critical to determine the required number of sites and the expenses. This can be accomplished by finding the Maximum Allowable Path Loss (MAPL) and calculating the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Operational Expenditure (OPEX) when deploying the 5G network. The purpose of this study is to identify these values for 5G network implementation using the soon-to-be freed 700 MHz frequency after Indonesia's Analog-Switch-Off (ASO) and to determine the expenses needed for the operator(s) to deploy 5G, over 167.3 square kilometers of an urban region in Bandung city, Indonesia. Additionally, this research relies on the TR 38.901 of the 3GPP standard with an outdoor line of sight scenario for both uplink and downlink. As a result, uplink required 27 sites while 9 sites for downlink, with CAPEX of 118,926.27 and OPEX of 23,625.707.
