With the integration of electronic information equipment, the electromagnetic sensitivity and electromagnetic compatibility of complex models cannot be ignored. Electromagnetic radiation produces a great threat to the normal operation and protection of each equipment. The key challenge in testing electromagnetic radiation sensitivity lies in the necessity of an ultra-broadband signal source to provoke the electromagnetic radiation-sensitive response of the complex space. Due to the number of electronic devices work in a large frequency band, the bandwidth of the signal source for excitation of radiation sensitivity is at least DC ~ 20GHz. This paper proposes an ultra-broadband(UWB) signal generation method based on optical frequency comb, aiming to modulate the existing broadband signals with a comb carrier signal. The cascaded MZM-based optical comb generation method produces optical combs with adjustable comb spacing. It can be used to generate UWB electromagnetic pulse signals from DC to 20 GHz. The generation method has a simple idea, a simple comb shaped carrier signal generation structure, and is flexible and tunable. This makes the bandwidth of the UWB signal generated by this method highly scalable and adjustable according to actual needs.
