5G Mobile Network with Blockchain, IoT and Drones Integration for Military Applications

초록

The evolution of 5G mobile communication technology has made it possible to develop communication architectures for the military domain. The article analyses the impact of the use of 5G mobile technology in special military operations, the associated advantages and vulnerabilities. 5G systems have high mobility for private network configuration, it allows users to be limited to only a set of certified users, the frequency band in which they operate can be controlled, they also have adaptive and dynamic control of the radio powers used on each channel so that not to distribute radio power more than necessary. Security solutions based on blockchain technologies can be integrated into such networks, so there is much more robust security solutions needed for systems that are used in military applications. The integration of IoT sensors is native to 5G technology, thus enabling complex data fusion solutions for video information, CBRN sensors, but also dedicated drone control modules to assist the mission. The basic network infrastructure is already available from manufacturers in a single-box configuration in a military-grade version.
