In this paper, a new planar broadband base station antenna for mobile communication system is designed. HFSS is used for simulation analysis. The antenna is composed of two parallel symmetric half-wave oscillators, which tail is bent 90° inward. In order to improve the directivity of the antenna, an eight-element array antenna is formed. Simulation results show that the antenna is suitable for 5G communication and has wide bandwidth. The gain of the antenna element is 10dBi, and the gain of the array reaches 15dBi. Meanwhile, the gain of the antenna element also meets the requirements of the design.
