초록

The paper addresses the theme of physical risks resulting from climate change. Physical risk is linked to the properties of the physical infrastructure of the complex technologies that make up modern Cyber-Physical systems. The paper is derived from a larger Report co-authored by the same authors, where they assess the impacts, on a limited number of infrastructures, resulting from “acute” events, which are one-time events such as floods or hurricanes, as well as “chronic” events, which are long-term changes in climate parameters such as temperature. The assessment is based on the authors’ experience, concerning the systems that make up the reference infrastructure. In this regard, knowledge of the physical nature of infrastructural components that could be destroyed or disrupted in their operation by specific threats arising from climate change is essential, resulting in the decay of the services provided by the infrastructures or an increase in the cost of such services.
