IoT-Enabled Shipping Container with Tracking System

초록

The logistics industry is crucial to the modern economy. Advanced trade logistics infrastructure uses roads, seaports, airports, railways, and warehouses that are essential for the development of a country. Transporting items from the place of origin to the site of consumption under the control of logistics is done to meet the needs of customers. Logistics refers to the process that deals with goods and commodities. The main duty of the organization is to make sure that the items safely reach their destination from the source while attempting to minimize any problems. In 2025, it was predicted that the Indian logistics industry would reach 380 billion dollars. In consideration of the customer’s requirements, the logistics need to be improved. With the facility of shipping, the clients must be able to know the information of the product, which includes the location, temperature, humidity, smoke detection, and so forth, based on the product’s requirements. The paper describes a smart container system that uses an Internet of Things (IoT) device, an IoT module, a smoke sensor, a global positioning system (GPS) module, light-dependent resistor (LDR) sensor, a DH11 (temperature and humidity sensor), and an Arduino Uno. This facilitates tracking the product for the customer.
