The Optimization of IPSec VPN in 5G Mobile Communication Network

Abstract. IPSec protocol has been used to protect user plane transmission in the network layer of 5G mobile communication network. Compared to protocols in the transport layer or higher, IPSec must deal with issues of reliability and fragmentation, which increases its complexity and overhead. Therefore, the implementation of IPSec is quite vital for its application efficiency. In this paper, a kind of method called packet slicing is proposed to promote the processing the efficiency in the principle of segmentation and parallel, which can cut down the network time delay in high traffic scenario. Furthermore, the applicability is verified in the laboratory. The optimization scheme is conducive to popularize IPSec VPN in 5G mobile communication networks.
