Unprecedented levels of speed, capacity, and connectivity for billions of devices are all on the horizon with the introduction of 5G wireless networks, which constitute a significant leap in mobile communication technology. These improvements, however, bring with them significant security concerns that need to be addressed in order to protect sensitive data and guarantee the privacy of users. This study analyzes the data encryption methods and authentication protocols that are specifically created for 5G networks, which are specifically designed for the next generation of mobile communication. To begin, we conduct an analysis of the inherent weaknesses that are present in the wireless communication systems that are now in use. This analysis drives home the point that robust encryption mechanisms are required to protect against unwanted access and data breaches. Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), and homomorphic encryption are some of the advanced algorithms that are discussed in our research paper. A variety of encryption methods that are designed for 5G architecture are also discussed. As part of the 5G ecosystem, we evaluate how well they are able to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of data while taking into account the limitations imposed by devices with limited resources. Further, we investigate novel authentication protocols, such as Mutual Authentication and Enhanced Authentication and Key Agreement (EAKA), which are designed to improve the level of security that is present during the interaction between the user and the network equipment.
