Response of Muscle Tissue to Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields: An Asymptotic Description

초록

Modern asymptotic techniques are shown to provide an accurate, uniformly valid analytical description of the propagated field dynamics inside a muscle tissue, represented by a four resonance Cole-Cole model, due to an input Gaussian pulse-envelope electromagnetic field. This theoretical description is validated, upon comparison with respective numerical results, and provides a comprehensive description of the amplitude and frequency dynamics of the propagated field, as a function of the dispersive and absorptive characteristics of the muscle tissue, the input pulse field parameters, and the propagation distance.
