Ground Penetrating Radar is a geophysical non-destructive method whose primary purpose is locate all kind of submerged or buried objects, pipelines, cables, clandestine graves, archaeological remain, etc., to that end, the GPR device emits a radioelectric signal pulse and the reflected signal gives specific data about abnormal areas, measuring changes and contrasts in the signal, in this sense, an antenna which satisfies gain, bandwidth, impedance, and low cost is demanded in order to collect vast amounts of data about the subsurface. This work proposes a 1 GHz bow tie microstrip patch antenna for GPR devices application.
