According to the demand for electromagnetic pulse testing of cables such as equipment power lines, control lines, and data lines, design of electromagnetic pulse injection sources based on Marx generators was studied. Through circuit simulation, a Marx generator charging and discharging circuit and a pulse front sharpening circuit were designed. By designing the structure of the capacitor box, the miniaturization of the pulse source has been developed. By designing trigger switches, conduction switches, and sharpening switches, the steepening of the pulse front was achieved. Based on the optimization design results, an electromagnetic pulse injection source has been developed. The rise time of output pulse is less than 20ns, the pulse width is 500-550ns, and the current can reach 5kA when the circuit load is 60 Ω, which can meet the requirements of cable end testing and assessment.
