Strengthening Data Security for BP Wrist Monitors: A Comprehensive Approach with Kyber and BIKE Lattice-Based Cryptography

초록

The increasing prevalence of digital health moni- toring solutions, such as BP (blood pressure) wrist monitors, necessitates robust security measures to safeguard sensitive pa- tient data. This research explores the application of lattice-based cryptography, specifically leveraging the Kyber Key Encryption technique (Kyber-KEM) based on Learning With Errors and the BIKE (Bit Flipping Key Encapsulation), to enhance the data security of BP wrist monitors. It also investigates the integration of lattice based cryptographic techniques into the design of BP wrist monitors, considering the constraints imposed by the compact form factor and limited computational resources inherent to wearable medical devices. Furthermore, the study addresses practical challenges associated with the deployment of lattice-based cryptography in wearable health devices, such as key management and algorithm parameterization.
