With the emergence of fifth-generation (5G) network, bringing a new concept known as network slicing. For network operators, 5G network slicing provides an end-to-end (E2E) partition of network resources to meet various service requirements. This allows services of exclusive requirement to exist on the same network infrastructure like coexistence of high bandwidth service and low latency service. Transport Network (TN) acts as an integral part in 5G network slicing because it is responsible of connecting Radio Access Network (RAN) and Core Network (CN). This paper aimed to focus on network slicing on TN. To realize network slicing on TN, a transport slice provisioning solution is presented through existing technologies on consolidated TN of fixed-mobile convergence. As a demonstration, a free viewpoint (FVP) stream is established and tested on the network of Chunghwa Telecom, which is the largest telecom operator in Taiwan. The results showed that this provisioning solution effectively satisfies requirement of 5G innovative applications.
