A Survey on Designs and Implementations of Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Technologies today are pushed to provide high quality solutions with minimal costs of operation, especially on network and its architecture. While some industries have some working spaces separated from their main office, it is considered necessary to provide private remote connection for workers accessing their corporate internal servers from remote space securely. Many designs, architectures, and methods used for implementing the commonly known virtual private network (VPN). And VPNs are now established for various scope of many great industries. Networks are being used not only for making two small networks with common nodes can reach each other, but also for connecting much bigger and previously unimaginable elements. Each of these designs has their own architecture and method, depends on their needs and use cases. This survey paper seeks many ways to design and implement the VPN and what scope of industries has been provided the functionality of VPN.
