Robust Communication Techniques for Securing Handheld Radios

초록

Hand-held radio plays an important role in emergency, law enforcement and rescue forces, such essential communication devices often utilize unsecured link, which may result in data breach or hostile situation escalation. This study aims to review robust communication techniques specifically for hand-held radios and walkie-talkie. For secure radio communication, attempts are being made to integrate cryptographic integrated circuits and processors into handheld radios. Exo and endo crypto devices are endeavored. Affordable cryptic solutions have been offered through cryptographic IC’s and logistic map is operated for encryption and decryption. The salting technique is simulated in Scilab Environment.
