AI has been a disruptive force in numerous fields like banking, healthcare, education, and transportation. This paper examines the basics of AI technology, key applications, major challenges, and potential future for artificial intelligence. The 1950s saw the development of AI, which has since experienced significant developments. Moreover, Artificial Intelligence was accelerated by other technologies, deep learning, machine learning and natural language processing. This paper gives a small insight into some relevant concepts and techniques of Artificial Intelligence that focus on machine learning algorithms, neural networks, support vector machines, decision trees, and NLP tools AI is known to be beneficial, but it also has its downsides, which may include bias in AI models, privacy and data security concerns as well as automation's effect on employment. In addition, this analysis looks into the upcoming advances in artificial general intelligence (AGI) that could have major societal impacts and future trends in AI with respect to the integration of blockchain technology, together with 5G networks and the Internet of Things. In conclusion, artificial intelligence has the potential to revolutionize industries and improve human experiences; however, careful consideration of ethical issues and proactive measures to reduce risks are essential. Collaborative AI and human-centered approaches are important to ensure that AI maximizes expected benefits and minimizes negative impacts.
