초록

The increasing demands in the field of logistics lead to the design of new innovative solutions aimed at optimizing the organization of activities within the warehouse, while taking into account the safety of personnel. These solutions, combined with the capabilities provided by leading-edge communication networks, can offer significant results, such as the elimination of the “waste” of time caused by unnecessary movements due to non-location of a product or incorrect route selection within the warehouse. In this environment, 5G and Beyond 5G (B5G) networks are introduced not to redesign the production line but to enable operating models with networking characteristics that enable added value services. The network infrastructure is designed to support logistics industry requirements, offering network capabilities such as Network Function Virtualization Management and Orchestration, network slicing and Slice Management and monitoring of the network KPIs (throughput, latency, packet loss, jitter). Therefore, this ensures real-time data exchange and optimal performance such as high network reliability and availability to support uninterrupted connectivity, high throughput to support HD video streaming, high device density to support a large number of sensors and leveraging heterogeneous data.
