An Analysis and Proposal on Standardization and R&D Strategies to Promote Responsible Development of Digital Asset

The use of digital assets in financial services introduces new and controversial challenges associated with the use of new blockchain-based technologies. To promote the mass adoption of digital assets for financial services, it is essential to standardize systems and mechanisms that enable efficient operations of service providers while mitigating associated risks. In contrast to traditional finance, the standardization of digital asset finance by standards-setting bodies has made limited progress. As an initial step towards promoting standardization in digital asset financial services, we have summarized technical, operational, and regulatory requirements that need standardization and presented the current status of standardization efforts in each requirement.
