Secure Multi Factor Authentication in Banking Sector

With the increasing usage of smart phones, all the work can be done easily including online transactions, accessibility of social media platforms, taking photos and videos etc. User authentication is important to ensure the security of an application. Particularly in banking sector lot of sensitive information is available in their database. Although the present technique using password mechanism for bank authentication, the attackers may take the opportunity to get the user details and act upon. To overcome these issues our proposal provides multi factor authentication to secure users bank account details. Apart from using password to access the bank account, our proposal sends OTP to the user email account and also use facial recognition to authenticate the user to access their bank details and allow them to do transaction. Our proposal uses Local Binary Pattern Histogram (LBPH) algorithm for facial recognition because of its 90.80% accuracy and got good results to access the bank account.
