The anti-personnel demolition combat unit achieves destructive effects like penetration and tearing by the penetration of fragments on the target. The fragment mass will attenuate after high-speed penetration of the target's outer armor. The residual mass of fragments is an important parameter for the post-effect of destructive ability. The targeting speed is a major factor affecting the attenuation law of fragment mass. At low speeds, the fragment mass hardly attenuates. When the targeting speed exceeds 1600m/s, the mass loss is serious. Moreover, the larger the fragment mass and the thicker the target plate, the greater the mass loss of fragments. The mass attenuation of high-speed penetrating fragments cannot be ignored. Relevant measures should be taken to reduce mass attenuation during the combat unit design, and the mass attenuation should also be further evaluated during the assessment of the post-effective destructive capability of fragments.
