FPGA base audio–video data embedding approach to increase privacy and authentication of secured data using forensic detection technique

Since the last decade, the significant growth of audio–video steganography in digital multimedia and its transmission over the internet has produced more attention in the field of data security. Data embedding and extracting using audio–video steganography is very simple and hence, it produces less privacy, security, and authentication of secret data. Presently many researchers have developed different image steganography techniques like exploiting modification direction (EMD), diamond encoding (DE), adaptive pixel paring mapping (APPM) where each secrecy bit reduces or increases by 1 pixel which creates less security, embedding capacity (EC), embedding rate (ER) and authentication of secret data. So, to reduce these limitations, this paper implemented a field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) base audio–video data embedding approach using a forensic detection technique. To embed secret data, the selective secured EMD (SS-EMD) technique is used which generates (5k2 + 4)—ary notational system where more than four-bit pixels of secret data are used to embed into the selected frames of video for enhancing embedding capacity, privacy, and authentication of secret data. The observed software and hardware results confirm that the implemented security model provides better privacy, authentication, robustness, embedding capacity (EC), embedding rate (ER), correlation indicator factor (CIF), and very good recovery of both secret and original data as compared to any existing methods.
