IPCCH: Intrusion Prevention in Cloud Computing Using Honeypot

초록

In this modern era, there has been rapid growth of technology. Information and Data have also been growing exponentially with time. With advancement comes responsibilities; the management, storage, security, and maintenance of these data and information has also increased. Cloud Computing offers the solution for the above problems by providing the users unlimited storage, the flexibility of resources, and maintenance of these resources. The security aspects in cloud computing include Intrusion Prevention (preventive measures against the attacker) and Intrusion Detection (detects the attacker and provides proper response), which are yet to entirely mature. Honeypots are used by some IPS and IDS to collect information about the attacker's attack methods, as well as to trap the attacker. Here in this paper, we will mainly get to know about the usage of honeypot systems and how they provide security to Cloud Computing. Also, we will learn about a novel concept and model, together with its working, advantages, and disadvantages.
