As Electric Vehicle (EV) adoption accelerates, Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) networks have emerged as a critical technology, enabling bidirectional energy flow between EVs and the power grid. However, this increased connectivity introduces new security challenges, particularly in the authentication process between EVs and V2G infrastructure. To address these challenges, we propose a novel ultra-fast authentication mechanism (UFAM) that takes advantage of the strengths of elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) to improve both security and efficiency in V2G networks. Unlike traditional methods, UFAM reduces computational overhead, thereby conserving energy and processing resources for both EVs and V2G infrastructure. Additionally, the protocol provides robust protection against a range of security threats, including replay attacks, message tampering, and impersonation. The security of the UFAM protocol is rigorously evaluated using the Syther Real-Or-Random (ROR) adversary model, demonstrating its resilience against sophisticated cryptographic attacks. This work represents a significant advancement in the security of V2G networks while maintaining high efficiency, making it pivotal for the widespread deployment of EVs and their seamless integration into the modern power grid.
