The increasing reliance on digital learning systems in K-12 and higher education has exposed them to a range of cybersecurity threats, necessitating robust mechanisms to safeguard digital evidence in the event of a security incident. IEEE Standard P2834.1, Digital Forensics for Trusted Learning Systems, addresses this critical need by outlining technical requirements and compliance standards to ensure learning systems are adequately prepared for digital forensics investigations. This paper evaluates the standard through diverse use case scenarios, simulating real-world applications to test its effectiveness in preserving evidence integrity, supporting incident response, and complying with regulatory requirements. The findings highlight the standard's adaptability to varying operational environments and its potential to enhance trust and accountability in educational systems. By exploring these scenarios, this study provides actionable insights for stakeholders to refine digital forensic capabilities and ensure alignment with the standard, reinforcing the resilience of learning ecosystems against cyber threats.
