Education is critical today to gain knowledge and understanding. For that, a good and structured education system is needed. The education system is a strategy used to carry out the teaching and learning process to achieve the goal so students can develop their potential. Education aims to educate the nation’s life and create people with good talents, creativity, innovation, and a more responsible personality. Along with the development of the Internet, hackers often release attacks designed to steal confidential data and servers on data from institutions. These significantly higher education institutions are the targets of attacks. The educational aspect is a significant concern when dealing with privacy, authentication, and confidentiality of user information stored on database servers. Therefore, it is essential to implement security measures to protect data and information from attacks by unauthorized persons. Extended Detection and Response (XDR) is an evolution of conventional endpoint security solutions that combine various security elements in one cohesive platform. XDR is intended to overcome the limitations of traditional security tools such as firewalls, antiviruses, and intrusion detection systems that often work, which causes a fragmented security posture. The main goal of XDR is to combine these various security tools to provide a more integrated and practical approach to detecting and responding to threats. Therefore, this paper aims to discuss data security issues related to educational database management systems. Server data protection should be a top priority in the increasingly connected and risky world of education. It is hoped that this research will provide information and results that can be used to improve network infrastructure security.
