Recent technological advancements in Video Surveillance Systems have significantly expanded their applications in both personal and public domains. Concurrently, the evolution of IP traffic has enabled seamless connectivity with flexible remote storage solutions. However, despite these innovations, security vulnerabilities persist due to the private and sensitive nature of video data. The transmission of such data over networks, particularly between a remote video server and an organization, poses risks to data integrity and demands additional security resources compared to previous-generation systems. The integration of Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) offers a novel paradigm, allowing local processing of video data to reduce network security overhead and enhance real-time protection. This paper aims to leverage blockchain technology to ensure video data security and integrity while maintaining network performance and scalability. To achieve this, we propose a secure video storage solution based on the InterPlanetary File System, combined with a MEC layer managed through smart contracts. The blockchain architecture, utilizing Segregated Witness, guarantees integrity verification via an efficient signature scheme. Experimental evaluations confirm the superior security and network performance of our approach compared to existing solutions.
