초록

The maritime industry remains exposed to cyber threats due to the old systems and depends on the existing, unequally distributed cyber security measures. This function hinges on the operations of the global ports and shipping facilities that assist in the smooth flow of commerce. To enhance the effectiveness of threat identification and management, this article aims at evaluating how the application of Artificial Intelligence algorithms in the sphere of ship operation and ports' security may enhance marine cyber protection. AI technologies also offer effective and efficient threat detection and response solutions in real-time utilizing projections. The study also points out the weaknesses that should not be overlooked, presents an overview of cybersecurity in the marine industry and discusses integration of Artificial Intelligence to plan a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy. In a way, the study shows the positive impact that AI-based approaches can have on the safety and stability of the marine industry by examining specific examples of the use cases of AI. The report also talks on functional, ethical and legal concerns about artificial intelligence for such scenarios. This suggests that the integration of AI in the Maritime cybersecurity structures increases the alert system for hostile intrusions and strengthens the overall defense of crucial infrastructure of global business chains.
