A Comprehensive Quality Assessment Method for Cyber Threat Intelligence Sharing Platforms (Tisps)

Cyber threat intelligence (CTI) is essential to cyberattacks detection and response. At present, the most effective manner to obtain the CTI is to search from different threat intelligence sharing platforms (TISPs), which are constructed and managed by individual intelligence producers. However, due to the ability difference, quality varies among different TISPs. This phenomenon induces challenge to CTI selection and application for users. Thus, a universal method to evaluate the comprehensive quality of different TISPs for user reference is urgently required. To address this issue, this paper proposes an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method with 35 indicators to quantitatively assess the quality of TISPs from both the platform and CTI aspects. Four TISPs are selected as assessing target to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Assessment results reveal the quality comparison of different TISPs, which provide basis to TISP selection.
