초록

Massive MIMO (Massive Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology has become the core of 5G and 5G+ communication technologies. This technology achieves higher wireless data traffic and connection reliability by using a large number of antenna arrays (e.g., 64,128,256,1024 etc. antennas) at the base station, which significantly improves the efficiency of spectrum and energy utilization in multiple dimensions such as space, time, frequency, and polarization, as compared to traditional single/dual-polarized antennas and 4/8-channel antennas. The 3D fugation and channel prediction technology of Massive MIMO can adaptively adjust the phase and power of antenna arrays, which improves the accuracy of beam pointing while reducing self-interference and neighbor interference within a cell. This technology has not only received great attention from communication operators worldwide, but has also been widely studied and tested by domestic and foreign operators. Major communication equipment manufacturers such as Huawei, ZTE, and Ericsson have explored this technology in depth in 5G trials in China. In addition, 3GPP has listed Massive MIMO as one of the important features to be supported since version R13, showing the key position of this technology in the future development of 5G networks.
